Earlier this week the announcement came in that a sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse themed action thriller ‘Machete’ would be shooting this April. Danny Trejo will be back in the title role and now a new piece of early sales art for the sequel ‘Machete Kills’ has appeared over at the EFM in Berlin. It’s nothing particularly special but its early days for the project so don’t be expecting too much. Rodriguez (‘Planet Terror’) will be back to helm but no word as yet on whether we’ll see any returning players from the first movie. Hopefully though in great Grindhouse tradition I’m sure we’ll get plenty of hot South American sex, violence and bloodshed. Check out the new teaser below.
“The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.”
