Production on Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros' sci-fi epic 'Pacific Rim', from director Guillermo Del Toro ('Pan's Labyrinth'), is starting to take shape and now some new footage from a CBS news report which shows a street in Toronto converted into a Japanese disaster scene has found its way online. The downtown Tokyo-styled street scene which includes various buildings, signs, flags and mailboxes have all been given a Far Eastern flavour. Ron Perlman ('Season of the Witch'), Charlie Hunnam ('Green Street'), Idris Elba ('The Wire'), Charlie Day ('Horrible Bosses'), Robert Kazinsky ('Eastenders'), Clifton Collins, Jr, Max Martini and Rinko Kikuchi all star in the alien epic. Del Toro helms from a script penned by Travis Beacham. Check out the footage below.
"Set in 2025, the 12th year of a war against alien creatures who reside in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The story finds a group of humans banding together to create and pilot massive robots to fight the giant creatures threatening to destroy Earth."
'Pacific Rim' is aiming for a theatrical release from 12 July 2013.
