Robert Rodriguez is going to be doing his best to butter up the likes of vet actor Mel Gibson ('Signs') and the lovely Michelle Williams ('Shutter Island') to star in his upcoming 'Machete' follow-up 'Machete Kills'. The Grindhouse style sequel which was supposed to start shooting this month will see Danny Trejo reprise his role of the vengeance filled ex-federale. Rodriguez is attempting to grab a few notable actors for his next installment in order to make the picture more appealing to potential buyers. The original 'Machete' was noted to be able to score a number of head turning names such as Don Johnson, Steven Seagal and even Robert De Niro ('Red Lights'). Check out the plot deets below.
"The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy."
