At long last it appears that movement is really kicking off on ‘Sin City’ sequel ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’. Dimension Films have announced Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are set to commence production on the follow-up to their successful 2005 feature adaption, based on the graphic novels by Miller, and will even begin casting next week! The original starred the likes of Rosario Dawson, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, Carla Gugino, Rutger Hauer, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Nick Stahl, Bruce Willis and Elijah Wood, many of which didn’t survive the movie. But we should at least expect hottie Jessica Alba (below) reprise her role as stripper Nancy Callahan but as we don’t actually know if this film will sequelise of prequelise the events from the first movie at this stage it’s difficult to tell who else may return. Shooting on the project will begin this Summer. Rodriguez will once again helm the green-screen heavy flick based on a script by by Miller and William Monahan (‘The Departed’).
Here’s an extract taken from the press release in which Rodriguez had the following to say:
“The first question I am always asked is “When will you make another Sin City?
I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations.
‘A Dame To Kill For ‘will certainly be worth the wait.”
