Lionsgate have finally revealed the first look trailer for their creepy new horror tale ‘The Possession’. The Ghost House Pictures project, formerly known as ‘Dibbuk Box’, has been on the radar for quite some time but now we can feast our horror hungry eyes on the new trailer which begins with the feeling of a little ‘been there, done that’ but kicks into gear for the latter half. Danish helmer Ole Bornedal directs from a script penned by co-writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White. The story is loosely based on the LA Times article ‘Jinx in a Box’ written by Leslie Gornstein. ‘The Possession’ stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Resident’), Madison Davenport (‘Shameless’), Natasha Calis (‘The Firm’) and Kyra Sedgwick. Check out the new trailer below.
“Based on true events, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”
‘The Possession’ is unleashed into theatres everywhere from 31 August.
