I have to admit I wasn’t hopeful for Ole Bornedal and Ghost House Pictures’ new horror tale ‘The Possession’ (previously known as ‘Dibbuk Box’). It was all beginning to sound a little too familiar and very been there, done that, bought the terrible t-shirt. However, get me a plate as I think I’m going to be munching down my words because from all the assets that have seeped online thus far are perfectly creepy. Including the newest still to be spotted featuring an unsettling stare, which you can can view below. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Resident’), Madison Davenport (‘Shameless’), Natasha Calis (‘The Firm’) and Kyra Sedgwick all star and and in case you missed it you can also check out the trailer below.
“Based on true events, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”
‘The Possession’ opens in theatres from 31 August.
