A fresh new still has popped up from ‘The Possession’ camp giving all sorts of brightly lit horror action. A scene of some attempted Jewish demon rebuking is present in the new still but doesn’t appear that all is going according to plan. The creepy-looking new horror thriller from Danish director Ole Bornedal (‘Deliver Us from Evil’) and writing duo Juliet Snowden and Stiles White (‘Knowing’) will be arriving late August just after the bigger releases have come and gone. So hopefully it’ll get some theatrical success and not be overshadowed by the mass of exciting Summer flicks. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Resident’), Madison Davenport (‘Shameless’), Natasha Calis (‘The Firm’) and Kyra Sedgwick all star. Check out the new still plus the previous trailer all below.
“Based on true events, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”
‘The Possession’ takes over theatres in the US and UK from 31 August.
