Having left the 'Ghostbusters 3' gossip ring alone for a while now we've decided to bring you this minor news nugget from the desks at ABC News. During an interview with Dan Aykroyd the actor revealed that a new team of writers were currently working on the script. "It's got to be perfect. That's the whole thing. There's no point in doing it unless it's perfect." So whether or not there's any actual truth to the rumour that previous drafts of the sequel script got shredded by Bill Murray it's all a little academic at this stage. It looks like Aykroyd is intent on bringing us the very best of what can be achieved with such a talked about follow-up after all these years. Whether that's admirable or mis-judged is another matter.

"Dan Aykroyd is doing his reputation a great disservice by prolonging this Ghostbusters III nonsense.
I think he does it intentionally to fail, just to have an alternate source of PR for his vodka.
Why would he hold so firmly to a progect that depends so much on the participation of just one cast member when he could channel all this energy to a very easily produced and well received Blues Brothers sequel or spin-off?
I know for a fact, from my industry contacts that there is a wonderful new Blues Brothers script readily available by someone who is even on Twitter.
It is very difficult to take Dan Aykroyd seriously when he does such career suicide.
He should be very careful not to keep beating a dead horse."
