GET READY FOR A SURPRISE! 'TOTAL RECALL' REMAKE GETS A PG-13 RATING!

After much online squawking, negative reactions and less than exciting reactions to Len Wiseman's 'Total Recall' redo it's a bloody shame that we now hear that the MPAA have slapped a PG-13 rating onto the project due for release next month. It's a far cry from that of Paul Verhoeven's 1990 version which managed to score an R rating and at the time an 18 rating here in the UK (which subsequently got dropped to a 15). The official line describes "intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, some sexual content, brief nudity, and language". Oh well, Colin Farrell ('Horrible Bosses') stars as Quaid this time around and is joined by Jessica Biel ('The Tall Man'), Kate Beckinsale ('Underworld: Awakening'), Bryan Cranston ('Drive', 'Breaking Bad'), Bill Nighy ('Shaun of the Dead') and Ethan Hawke ('Daybreakers').

"Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). 'Total Recall' opens on 3 August in the US and the 29 August here in the UK.
