Not sure how I feel about this piece of ‘Total Recall’ gossip. On one hand it would have been one hell of a sight to behold. On the other hand we would have lost an entire feature filled experience with sexy Brit star Kate Beckinsale cat-fighting (and then some) with fellow hottie co-star Jessica Biel (‘The A-Team’). And of course without a third hand its all pretty pointless anyway. During a chat with Worst Previews the delightful 38-year old actress revealed that there was a point during the development of the Len Wiseman (her real-life hubby) helmed project that she may not have been able to take on the role of Lori due to scheduling and would have had to make do with a brief cameo instead. And the cameo role? Well, the three-breasted hooker of course! Kate (below) stars alongside the forementioned Biel, Colin Farrell (‘Horrible Bosses’), Bryan Cranston (‘Drive’), Bill Nighy (‘Shaun of the Dead’) and Ethan Hawke (‘Daybreakers’). Check out the small excerpt below and let your imagination do the rest!
“At one point, when it looked like I wouldn’t be able to play Lori, I was going to do a cameo as the three-breasted woman,” Beckinsale explained. “And I started fretting about where they’d put the third one. Have I actually got room for a third one in the middle, or would it go to the side? Would it then be under an armpit and actually not sexy?”
And here’s the synopsis:
“Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.”
‘Total Recall’ opens on 3 August in the US and the 29 August here in the UK.
