Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ is one of those horror masterpieces. It lives long in the mind after a viewing with incredible tension building sequences and unforgettable visual horrors. Apart from a mini-series re-adaption of Stephen King’s original novel its been almost untouched for decades now that is until some whispers that Warner Bros. are looking in to the possibility of bringing us a prequel! The LA Times has managed to score some insider info from a source who’s not officially allowed to be discussing the project publicy at this stage. According to the mystery insider WB are looking to get writer-producer Laeta Kalogridis (‘Shutter Island’), Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt on board as a producing team for the project which would focus its attentions on the action in the Overlook Hotel that preceded Jack Torrance’s (Jack Nicholson) unsuccessful role as caretaker. An official development status is yet to be announced but I’m sure we’ll hear more very soon.
