Jewish music star Matisyahu screams his little Yiddish heart out in a new still from Ole Bornedal’s ‘The Possession’. The songster turned actor plays Rabbi Tzadok in the new demonic horror which also sees Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Losers’, ‘The Resident’), Kyra Sedgwick (‘Man on a Ledge’), Madison Davenport (‘Shameless’) and Natasha Calis (‘The Firm’) attempting to escape the clutches of an evil force unleashed from a haunted Jewish winebox. The flick arrives at the end of next month from Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Head below for the new still courtesy of Audillos.
“Based on true events, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”
‘The Possession’ arrives in theatres on 31 August.
