PATTINSON AND GIAMATTI AMONGST NEW THREESOME OF 'COSMOPOLIS' STILLS

As much as an actor can lose a lot of respect in the acting world when he or she is forever attached to a role that makes any teenage girl wet yet everyone else gag British star Robert Pattinson is definitely making sure he doesn't get pigeon-holed too early in his career. Pattinson, who's naughty girlfriend and 'Twilight' co-star Kristen Stewart has been playing away recently, has managed to somehow already shift his focus and choose roles that are completely polar opposites from that of drippy, moody vampire emo Edward Cullen from the 'Twilight' series. Already with roles in Francis Lawrence's 'Water for Elephants' and playing the bad guy in 'Bel Ami' earlier this year the young actor jumped on board David Cronenberg's new surreal futuristic adaption 'Cosmopolis'. Entertainment site The Playlist have revealed 3 new stills from the flick which arrives in US theatres later this month. Samantha Morton ('Minority Report'), Jay Baruchel ('The Apocalypse'), Paul Giamatti ('Shoot 'Em Up', 'John Dies at the End'), Kevin Durand ('Lost'), Juliette Binoche, Sarah Gadon, Mathieu Amalric and Emily Hampshire all co-star. "'Cosmopolis' centers on Eric Packer (Pattinson). A financial wunderkind, Packer risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day. His deed puts him in the crosshairs for assassination in a drama that is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis. Most of the scenes in the book take place in the limousine that transports Packer from place to place."

'Cosmopolis' will open stateside on 17 August.
