Robert Schwentke's 'R.I.P.D.' adaptation has been pushed back by a few weeks ahead of its 2013 release. The horror action feature, based on the original Dark Horse comic book by author Peter Lenkov, was due to kick off its theatrical run stateside on 28 June 2013 but has now crawled its way down the pecking order to a hopefully more safe 19 July 2013 release. No doubt this will shift about a little again nearer the time as a number of Summer releases will be opening in and around that period including that of Guillermo Del Toro's sci-fi epic 'Pacific Rim'. The Universal project is still currently slated for a 21 June release here in the UK but what with this US shift we'd imagine the UK will soon follow suit. Ryan Reynolds ('Blade: Trinity'), Jeff Bridges ('TRON: Legacy'), Kevin Bacon ('Super'), Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker ('Weeds'), the sexy Marisa Miller (below) and James Hong ('Big Trouble in Little China') all star.
"Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department -- the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement "patrolling the deadbeat...reporting to one boss." Yep -- THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he's traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back -- literally!"
