WARNER BROS AND LEGENDARY PICTURES ANNOUNCE 'GODZILLA' RELEASE FOR 2014

After impressing one and all with his hugely intelligent form of guerilla filmmaking for indie horror hit 'Monsters' British writer/director Gareth Edwards was quickly tapped by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures to take directorial responsibilities on their new 'Godzilla' reboot. And now the newest retelling of the classic creature feature is scheduled to hit theatres on 16 May 2014. This is the same day that the Michael Bay produced 'Ninja Turtles' is expected to arrive in cinemas. So it seems that mid-May 2014 is certainly a reptile heavy period. Edwards will direct from a script co-penned by David S. Goyer ('The Dark Knight Rises'), Max Borenstein and David Callaham ('The Expendables').
