‘Absentia’ director Mike Flanagan is a lucky fella. Not only does he already have ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Outcast’ actress Karen Gillan lined up for his new horror directorial role on Film District and Intrepid Pictures’ ‘Oculus’ but it seems he’s snagged another hottie that’ll keep sci-fi fanatics more than happy. ‘Battlestar Galactica’ babe Katee Sackhoff (below) has joined the production expected to shoot later this year. Sackhoff is set to play the role of Kaylie’s mother, Kaylie of course being played by Gillan. We have to assume Sackhoff’s character will feature predominently in flashbacks as there’s only an actual 8 year age difference between the two actresses. Gillan and co-star Arthur Darvill will be leaving timelord ‘Doctor Who’ in a couple of episodes time as they depart the series. Check out the brief plot details below.
“The story follows a woman whose life was ruined after her parents were murdered. Her brother was convicted of the crime despite her belief that the real culprit was a supernatural entity. After a decade, she becomes obsessed with finding the truth behind the killing.”
