The second season of FX’s award-winning TV show ‘American Horror Story’ premiered last night. Unfortunately it doesn’t air in the UK until Tuesday 30 October so I’ll try not to spoil anything just yet. But the good news that’s coming direct from creator Ryan Murphy is that actor and star of the original series Dylan McDermott is set to make a return. He tweeted “So thrilled to announce that Dylan McDermott will be returning to American Horror Story”. This comes as somewhat a surprise as McDermott was originally confirmed to NOT be making an appearance in the new Asylum season. Episode 2, entitled ‘Tricks And Treats’ is set to air stateside on 24 October at 10:00pm e/p wherein the staff summon an exorcist to deal with a possessed farm boy, while Sister Jude’s (played by Jessica Lange) dark past is revealed. Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters James Cromwell (‘LA Confidential’), Joseph Fiennes (‘FlashForward’), Chloe Sevigny, Mark Consuelos, Lizzie Brochere, Franka Potente (‘Creep’), Adam Levine (from ‘Maroon 5’) and Jenna Dewan all star in Asylum.
“Briarcliff Manor is a notorious haunted house. In 1962, the estate was purchased by the Catholic Church and turned into a sanitarium for the criminally insane. It is said that nobody committed to Briarcliff ever got out… including its most infamous inmate, a serial killer known only as Bloody Face. And decades later, Briarcliff may still be haunted…”
