Don’t you love it when fans can get involved in the production of a movie or in this case a brand new horror series!? Well now you can for new ‘Psycho’ prequel serial ‘Bates Motel’. The A&E show from creator and exec producer Carlton Cuse are looking for fans to submit their very own ideas for the opening sequence for the upcoming series. “We want to give fans the chance to participate in the show,” said Cuse. “We’re looking for an awesome fifteen-second title sequence that captures the feel of Bates Motel – not as a slasher/horror show, but as a complex, character-based thriller.” To take part fans need to visit the contest on the Facebook page (linked below) and submit their ‘visual idea’ as a 15 second video. Carlton himself and other judges will then pick the winner after the 3 January closing date and that winner will receive a $2,500 prize and the chance for their idea to be turned into the new sequence for the series airing in March. Vera Farmiga (‘Source Code’, ‘Orphan’), Freddie Highmore (‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’), Nestor Carbonell (‘Lost’), Mike Vogel, Olivia Cooke (‘The Quiet Ones’), Nicola Peltz and Keegan Connor Tracy all star in the new show.

“Bates Motel will give viewers an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ (Highmore) psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn firsthand how his mother, Norma (Farmiga), and her lover damaged Norman, helping forge the most well-known serial killing motel owner in history. Carbonell portrays a local sheriff, Vogel is his handsome deputy, and Thieriot plays Norman’s older brother, Dylan Bates.”
