Since ‘Let Me In’ helmer Matt Reeves picked up the reigns of the new ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ sequel its looking more and more likely that James Franco (‘127 Hours’) will not be returning to reprise his leading role for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’. MTV have been chatting with the star who stated: “I was going to be a small part of the next one. There was a moment when Rupert Wyatt was going to direct the second one. A lot of the human characters that were in the first movie were dead in the sequel that Rupert was going to direct.” But now both Wyatt and former Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman have left the revitalised franchise Franco has been left out of the loop somewhat. “My guess is I won’t be in it.” says Franco.
‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ is due to arrive from 23 May 2014.
