The ensemble begins to grow as another character role has been inked in on the official cast list of ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’. It appears that Clive Owen, who starred in 2005’s original masterpiece, will not be returning to reprise his role as Dwight. Instead its been handed to ‘Planet Terror’ and ‘Gangster Squad’ star Josh Brolin (below) to take the part as a pre-plastic surgery version of the character and hence explain why he now has a different face. The story featuring that of Dwight will precede the segment he appeared in during the original ‘Sin City’. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller co-direct the comic book adaptation which already has Mickey Rourke, Jamie Chung, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Jessica Alba and Dennis Haysbert on board. It was announced earlier this week that ‘Looper’ star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has also scored a leading role int he follow-up.
“Stuck with nothing but a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, Dwight’s thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to feel the fire. One more time. But he can’t let himself lose control again, can’t ever let the monster out. And then Ava calls. With a new look generating more excitement than ever before, this third edition is the perfect way to attract a whole new generation of readers to Frank Miller’s masterpiece!”
‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ is aiming for a 4 October 2013 release date.
