Yesterday heads were being scratched and faces were perplexed by the announcement that Millennium Films were planning on revving up more action for us following the success of their new ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ installment. The word on the street was that ‘Texas Chainsaw 4’ was being prepped which stopped many a horror aficionado in his/her tracks trying to work out exactly how that would be placed in the existing franchises timeline. Although the ‘4’ itself has since been retracted as nothing more than a typo from the source which means we can breathe a sigh of relief at least for now. However, even news of a sequel planned at all was a tad hasty.
Producer Carl Mazzacone and executive producer Mark Burg have confirmed that there is in fact “no progress” on a sequel. Burg says of Millennium “They have no right to announce this sequel and if we make another it has to be as good or better than this one and that takes time.” So there you have it.
‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ is in theatres now.
