After bringing together one hell of a cast for his action sequel 'Machete Kills' director Robert Rodriguez must be pleased to know that Open Road Films has set a 13 September 2013 release date for the packed follow-up. Danny Trejo returns to the title role of ex-Federale with a hankering for kick-ass violence and babes. So roll on September when we can quietly oggle Jessica Alba -below ('Sin City'), Michelle Rodriguez ('Resident Evil: Retribution'), Amber Heard ('Drive Angry'), Vanessa Hudgens ('Sucker Punch'), Zoe Saldana ('Avatar'), Alexa Vega, Sofia Vergara ('Modern Family') and the hot Avellan twins ('Planet Terror'). Whilst of course enjoying the performances of Edward James Olmos ('Dexter'), Charlie Sheen ('Anger Management'), William Sadler and Mel Gibson.
The reason for all this? "Overnight claims that earlier this month they were not provided with Texas tax credit information as required under the agreement with Rodriguez's company. "Defendants have also failed and refused to provide the required budget information to Overnight Productions so that it can determine the producer fee owed with respect to the sequel".
"The new film finds Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer (Gibson) who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy."
