A new trailer for the new ‘Evil Dead’ remake has arrived. It happily features some new footage to check out but is sadly bundled up together into green band status. The trailer is not a patch of the glorious gore-filled red band one we saw a few weeks back but still it’s not exactly family friendly and will do a good job of freaking out your younger siblings if that is indeed your wish. When it was first announced that Sam Raimi’s classic horror feature would be getting the remake treatment I’m sure we all felt like grabbing the nearest thing to us and punching it repeatedly. Thankfully however it looks instead like we’re going to be in for one hell of a horror treat from director Fede Alvarez and producers Raimi, Rob Tapert and original star of ‘The Evil Dead’ Bruce Campbell. Check the new trailer below.
“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. An archaeologist’s tape recording reveals that the ancient text was discovered among the Khandarian ruins of a Sumerian civilization. Playing the taped incantations, the youths unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
‘Evil Dead’ opens on 12 April in the US and from the 19 April here in the UK.
