Apart from being a talented performer ‘Drive’ star Ryan Gosling is focusing his sights now on moving behind the camera for his fantasy thriller ‘How to Catch a Monster’. And the next big box to be ticked in the pre-production is the announcement that Gosling has found his leading man. Variety are reporting that ‘Dr Who’ star Matt Smith (below) has been signed up to play to the project which Gosling himself also penned. Smith, who can currently be seen playing the eleventh doctor in the long-running BBC sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’, will join the already cast double dose of buxom beauties Christina Hendricks (‘Mad Men’) and Eva Mendes (‘Training Day’). ‘How to Catch a Monster’ will being shooting sometime this Spring.
“Weaving elements of fantasy noir and suspense into a modern day fairytale, How to Catch a Monster is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city. Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.”
