Another sticky red fresh image of young Chloe Moretz (‘Dark Shadows’) splattered from head to toe in pig’s blood has emerged from the upcoming ‘Carrie’ production. The remake due for release this October comes under the watchful eye of director Kimberly Peirce who helms from a script penned by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The remake of course is based on the novel by Stephen King and already has the unenviable challenge of bettering Brian De Palma’s effort from 1976. Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’), Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt’), Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer (‘The Village’) and Brit stunner Gabriella Wilde all co-star. Head below for the goods.
“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”
‘Carrie’ opens on 18th October 2013.
