If you’re tired of safe, polished, watered-down horror, Twisted Tales of Madness and Murder Presents is here to drag you screaming back into the gutter where horror belongs.

Created and written by Rick Tobin, this brutal audio anthology podcast channels the raw spirit of 1970s grindhouse cinema and classic late-night radio drama, then cranks the violence, madness, and psychological tension up to eleven.

Every episode drops listeners into a new story where morality collapses, people snap, and the darkness inside ordinary lives finally claws its way out. There are no safe endings here. No sanitized villains. No polite storytelling. Just twisted characters, ugly truths, and the kind of stories that make you wonder how close any of us really are to losing control.

Twisted Tales of Madness and Murder Presents blends cinematic sound design with powerhouse voice performances to create an experience that feels less like a podcast and more like sitting in a filthy midnight theater watching a movie that probably shouldn’t exist. The show dives headfirst into themes most storytellers are too afraid to touch, violence, obsession, corruption, revenge, and the quiet madness simmering just beneath the surface of everyday life. Episodes like “Carbon Fiber” and other fan favorites prove that the show isn’t interested in playing nice. These stories stare directly into the uglier side of reality and dare listeners to keep listening.

For fans of raw horror, psychological thrillers, grindhouse cinema, and old-school audio storytelling, Twisted Tales of Madness and Murder Presents is the kind of show that doesn’t politely ask for your attention. It grabs you by the throat and pulls you into the dark. The series is available anywhere you get your podcasts.

Filming in Topanga Canyon

Filming in the secluded Topanga Canyon added a layer of authenticity to the film’s atmosphere. Pratt recalls an encounter with a local resident who mistook the dramatic sounds from the isolated set for a real emergency. Dressed in vintage 1930s clothing, the man wandered out of his house, blending seamlessly into the eerie landscape. He observed for several minutes before vanishing once he noticed the cameras. The main house filming just had a fire trail at the end of the street, and by nightfall, the area was enveloped in complete darkness – a fitting mood for the horror unfolding on screen.

Horror Fans are Loyal

Pratt highlights the loyalty of the horror community, which he sees as a driving force behind the success of the genre on streaming platforms and at the box office. He praises horror fans for their unwavering commitment and passion, noting that they stand out as some of the most devoted audiences in cinema.

The Sword Incident

In a lighter moment, Pratt shared the story involving the sword his character Tepes uses in the film. After the shoot, director Michael Merino gifted the sword to Pratt. However, the following year, Pratt attempted to bring it back to Australia on a holiday to show family and it was confiscated at the airport. “It wasn’t good, they started by saying this is a weapon, not a movie prop,” recalled Pratt.

Playing the Role of Tepes

One of the standout discussions centers around Pratt’s portrayal of Tepes, a sinister character with historical undertones and charm. While Pratt never confirmed whether the character’s name was meant as a direct nod to historical figures, he does reveal that Tepes’ manipulative nature added depth to his performance. Tepes starts as a seemingly charming figure but gradually reveals a much darker side, with Pratt skillfully portraying his descent into menace.

What’s Next for James Pratt?

Looking ahead, he has several exciting films coming out. He acts in the upcoming thriller-horror film, The Three Killer Pigs, which stars Brian Austin Green and Anson Williams, the comedy Wingman, directed by Harland Williams (Dumb and Dumber, Something About Mary) and starring Kayla Wallace (Landman) and Jamie Kennedy (Romeo & Juliet) and the drama Eyes of Salt, a film about a complex relationship set in a seaside town with a tone reminiscent of Lost in Translation, it stars Pratt alongside Hong Kong screen star Bernice Liu (Bad Blood, The King of Fighters).

A drifter’s search for Kentucky gold turns into a nightmare in this atmospheric descent into madness, arriving on digital platforms April 7, 2026.

Deskpop Entertainment is proud to announce the April 7, 2026, VOD release of SOUL CHAPEL, a haunting new thriller produced by MTS Pictures. Directed by Jake C. Young and written by David Daring, the film takes audiences deep into the unforgiving backwoods of Kentucky, where greed and isolation collide with the supernatural.

When a desperate drifter (Andrew Pierson) ventures through the Kentucky wilderness in pursuit of a legendary gold cache, a sudden, blinding snowstorm forces him to seek refuge in a remote, weathered sanctuary known as Soul’s Chapel. What begins as a fight for survival against the elements quickly transforms into a struggle for his very soul. As the night unfolds, he discovers that the chapel’s history is stained with blood, and the fate awaiting him within its walls is anything but holy.

“Soul Chapel is more than a survival story; it’s a gritty, atmospheric exploration of isolation and the dark corners of the human psyche,” says director Jake C. Young. “We wanted to capture the raw, cold beauty of Kentucky while delivering a tension that feels both claustrophobic and eternal.”

The film features a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Andrew Pierson (The Devil’s Tree), Brian Bremer (Pumpkinhead), and Niko El Santo Zavero.

SOUL CHAPEL will be available for purchase and rental on all major VOD platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play, beginning April 7, 2026.

A new slasher is entering the battlefield of modern horror — and it’s bringing something far more dangerous than just a knife.

Deathstalker Productions has released the first teaser trailer for A Soldier’s Descent, an intense new slasher film that fuses brutal genre thrills with a grounded look at the psychological aftermath of war. The teaser immediately establishes a bleak and unsettling tone: fractured memories, suffocating tension, and a growing sense that the real battle may only be beginning.

At its core, A Soldier’s Descent aims to do something rarely attempted in the slasher genre. The film has been described as one of the first socially responsible slasher films, using horror to explore the difficult realities many veterans face after returning home. Rather than presenting violence purely for spectacle, the film confronts the emotional fallout of combat — and the terrifying consequences when that trauma begins to spiral out of control.

The teaser suggests a story where isolation, guilt, and psychological pressure slowly push its central character toward a breaking point. It’s tense, grounded, and uncomfortably real — the kind of horror that lingers long after the screen goes dark.

Backing the project is a cast packed with cult horror veterans, recognizable genre faces, and rising talent:

Andrew Pierson (Return of the Living Dead: Trash’s Revenge, Witchcraft XVII: The Initiation, Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light)

Kato Kaelin (BASEketball, expert witness OJ Simpson trial)

Jennifer Banko (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, Barb Wire, Pacific Palisades, Sunset Beach)

Kaitlyn Trentham (The Jester 2)

J. Gaven Wilde (The Righteous Gemstones, The Black Phone, Halloween Kills)

Laurene Landon (Airplane II: The Sequel, Maniac Cop)

Sandy Johnson (Halloween)

Kristina Lafser (The Last Sleepover, Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light)

For horror fans, the lineup is stacked with familiar names connected to some of the most iconic franchises in genre history, bringing decades of horror legacy into a film that aims to take the slasher formula somewhere darker and more grounded.

Behind the scenes, A Soldier’s Descent is already deep in post-production, with the teaser serving as the first signal that the film is preparing to enter the festival circuit and begin its march toward release.

If the teaser is any indication, A Soldier’s Descent isn’t just another slasher looking for blood — it’s a tense psychological spiral wrapped inside a brutal horror framework.

The first teaser trailer is now circulating online, offering horror fans their first look at a film that aims to cut deeper than the average genre entry.

Because in A Soldier’s Descent, the war may be over…

…but the descent is just beginning.

What if your neighbor wasn’t just annoying, but a notorious murderer? From filmmaker Dylan R. Nix (10/31 Part 4, Sharp Candy) and Scream Team Releasing comes The Demon of Serling, a bleakly comedic thriller that explores the twisted side of enlightenment.

When Reagan Rossi (Dylan R. Nix) discovers his neighbor, Mr. Yarley (David E. McMahon, He Never Left), is the local serial killer known as “The Demon of Serling,” he doesn’t just run for the police. Instead, the two men embark on a transformative night that spirals into darkly funny and devastatingly bleak consequences.

“We wanted to take the ‘serial killer next door’ trope and turn it into something more intimate and existential,” says director Dylan R. Nix. “It’s a story about finding a connection in the darkest, most unexpected places.”

The Demon of Serling is now available on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and Digital via Scream Team Releasing.

FOUND TV+ members get early access on April 23

FOUND TV is bringing the festival hit Loner to its platform on April 24, with an exclusive global release. The film will be available free with ads, while FOUND TV+ members can watch a day early on April 23 without interruptions.

Written by and starring Charlie Robb, and co-directed with Douglas Tawn, Loner is a found footage folk horror film with a dark comedic edge. The story follows an aspiring vlogger who heads into the wilderness for a solo retreat, only to find himself trapped by an ancient force. The film has already made a strong impression on the festival circuit. It’s set to play Panic Fest 2026 and has picked up several awards, including Best Feature at the British Horror Film Festival and Best Film and Best Actor at the Black Sunday Film Festival. It also earned Best Director at Nòt Film Festival and multiple nominations at Raindance.

Early reactions point to a mix of psychological horror, dark humor, and a character-driven approach that leans into the strengths of the found footage format. “Loner is raw, uncomfortable, and exactly the kind of film that shows why found footage from around the world is having a moment. These are the voices FOUND TV is built to spotlight.” — Louie La Vella, CEO and co-founder of FOUND TV.

As a debut feature, Loner fits squarely within FOUND TV’s focus on spotlighting emerging filmmakers and giving genre projects a wider audience beyond festivals. The platform continues to build a dedicated space for found footage fans, with a curated lineup that highlights both new voices and standout indie releases.

Loner will be available in over 100 countries through FOUND TV.

“BOBO’S BIGFOOT ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND” Premieres This April

For some, Bigfoot remains a legend. For others, it is an undeniable reality. This April, Bayview Entertainment invites viewers to step beyond the treeline with the premiere of Bobo’s Bigfoot Encounters of the 4th Kind.

Directed by Warren Croyle, the documentary follows renowned researcher James “Bobo” Fay (Finding Bigfoot) as he moves beyond mere sightings into the realm of the extraordinary. Having encountered the creature himself, Bobo has spent years traveling the globe gathering data, recording eyewitness accounts, and studying evidence firsthand.

Now, for the first time, Bobo reveals three of the most astonishing and reality-shattering encounters ever documented. These accounts challenge the boundaries of what we know about the creature, suggesting that for those who have come face-to-face with the unknown, there is no longer any room for doubt: Bigfoot is real.

Starring James “Bobo” Fay, Sam Kitchen, and Jessey Winslow, this film is a must-watch for skeptics and believers alike who are ready to confront the evidence of the world’s most elusive cryptid.

Bobo’s Bigfoot Encounters of the 4th Kind will be available this April on major digital platforms and physical media via Bayview Entertainment.
