Platinum Dunes have revealed the brand new and exciting trailer for the upcoming ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ redo. The rather revealing trailer certainly makes things look extremely interesting, however, I think most are going to find it hard to get past the new Krueger. Especially in the voice department, it all seems a little ‘wrong’. That said the trailer looks fresh and even appears to be dealing with Freddy’s origins (not covered until the original sequels) so things are optimistic.
You can check out the full trailer below.
The remake stars Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker and Katie Cassidy. Actor Jackie Earle Haley takes over from the legendary Robert Englund in the role of Freddy Krueger.
“Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another… but when they sleep, there is no escape. Jackie Earle Haley stars as Krueger.”
‘A Nightmare’ on Elm Street’ opens across the US on April 4, 2010. No word on a UK release date as yet but expect it around the same time.
