French horror has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years so I think it’s safe to get just a little excited about the upcoming desert horror flick ‘Djinns’. It’s been through a few name changes bouncing back from ‘Stranded’ to ‘Djinns’ and so forth. But a slew of new stills from the movie have appeared online and you can check them out below. Nothing too interesting there at the moment but we’re sure future stills will prove even more effective.
“Algeria, 1960. A section of French paratroopers are sent in search of a missing aircraft in the Algerian desert. The wreckage of the plane is quickly located, but there are no survivors, just a suitcase stamped “Top Secret”. Stormed by enemy soldiers, the troops find refuge in a strange abandoned citadel. Despite warnings from the place’s Guardian to leave at once, they wake up the Djinns, the evil spirits of the desert…”
Personally I’d like to see ‘Aliens’ meets ‘Wishmaster’, that’s what the title says to me, but we’ll see. This Djinn-credible tale stars Saïd Taghmaoui (‘Lost’, ‘Vantage Point’), Aurélien Wiik, Cyril Raffaelli, Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet, Thierry Fremont, Grégory Quidel, Emmanuel Bonami, Omar Lotfi, Matthias Van Khache and Stéphane Debac.
The movie is directed by Sandra and Hugues Martin.
