Aside from the over-active rumour mill concerning Ridley Scott’s new ‘Alien’ prequel there’s another project that just can’t solidify its mass of speculations. ‘Ghostbusters 3’ has been making the rounds in rumour land for years now. Will they, won’t they? Dan Aykroyd seems keen, heck the whole original cast do, apart from one guy. You guessed it, Bill Murray. Murray has been reluctant to show his hand on the supernatural follow-up and even with a script by ‘The Office’ writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnits in place it’s still not looking too good according to Deadline Hollywood. We’ve seen the likes of Anna Faris – below (‘Scary Movie’, ‘The House Bunny’) and Bill Hader (‘Superbad’, ‘Paul’) connected to the project as well as ‘Ghostbusters’ director Ivan Reitman. It is, however, nice to see that Murray still has such A-lister pull in Hollywood after all these years.
“Bottom line: a yes from Murray moves Ghostbusters III right into pre-production, with shooting to begin as fast as possible. If Murray says no, the film doesn’t have a ghost of a chance. No pressure, Dr. Peter Venkman.”
