Oscar winning actor Adrien Brody has surprising signed up to play the lead in Robert Rodriguez’s alien sequel ‘Predators’. He’ll be joining a gaggle of pre-named performers as well as Derek Mears (who was recently seen in the ‘Friday the 13th’ revamp earlier this year) who will apparently be showing up as a Predator himself. ‘That 70’s Show’ star Topher Grace may also be gracing his presence on the project as he is currently in talks to join up.
Other performers who have signed up for their jungle fun will be Alice Braga (‘I Am Legend’), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Walt Goggins, Danny Trejo and UFC fighter Oleg Taktarov. The project will be helmed by Nimrod Antal and is to be distributed by 20th Century Fox.
You can read some of the character specifics below.
Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the mantle of leader and is known as a hunter of men. Grace would play an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer. Braga is the tough female killer. Ali is a man not afraid to die, Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent. Trejo, already cast, is Cuchillo, a hardened warrior with twin uzis strapped to his back.
Production is slated to kick-off next month in Hawaii and should be hitting theatres on July 9 2010.
