Cary Fukunaga Lining up Stephen King’s ‘It’ as Project After Next?

‘Sin Nombre’ helmer Cary Fukunaga was given the unenviable job of writing and directing a new retelling of classic Stephen King horror ‘IT’. Back in June 2012 word was that the project, originally shot as a two-part miniseries in 1990, would have to go a similar route and split the films over two installments. It makes sense as there’s a hell of a lot of content to squeeze in. However, it seems we may still have quite a wait, that is at least according to producer Dan Lin whom in an interview with Collider stated that “I’m hoping that’ll be his next movie after the indie he’s shooting in Africa.” We believe he must be referring to Fukunaga’s ‘Beasts of No Nation’ project starring Idris Elba (‘Luther’). Either way let’s hope it’s worth the wait.

“It was the children who saw – and felt – what made the town so horribly different. In the storm drains and sewers ‘It’ lurked, taking the shape of every nightmare, each one’s deepest dread. As the children grow up and move away, the horror of ‘It’ is buried deep – until they are called back.”
