Those kindly horror fellows over at Arrow in the Head have posted up the first ever clip taken from Christopher Nolan’s already much-praised Batman finale ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. The new 34 second clip below features Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (‘Looper’) having a brief chat as Commissioner Gordon and the inquisitive officer John Blake respectively. It’s pretty much spoiler free and doesn’t exactly reveal anything that we didn’t already know so is safe to take a peek at. Christian Bale (‘Batman Begins’), Tom Hardy (‘Inception’), Anne Hathaway (‘Get Smart’), Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine (‘Harry Brown’) and Morgan Freeman (‘Se7en’) also star. Check out the new clip below.
“It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.”
Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past months ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ opens everywhere on 20 July 2012.
