Daniel Gillies, better known for his role as Elijah Mikaelson in CW’s series ‘The Vampire Diaries’, will be reprising his original vamp role for the newly planned spin-off series ‘The Originals’. Gillies (below) will be back alongside his sibling Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, in the new show that will focus on the family of vampires whom all of which will be featured in the upcoming episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ set to air on 25th April. This episode will act as the pilot episode for the show and will revolve around “Elijah, intent on helping his self-destructive brother find redemption, must side with Marcel’s enemies in order to keep Klaus in line”. Phoebe Tonkin will also be starring in the spin-off as her role asthe werewolf Hayley.
“‘The Originals’ centers on the Original family of vampires, as Klaus (Morgan) returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — and is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel. Tonkin also stars, reprising her Vampire Diaries character as werewolf Hayley that was introduced this past fall.”
