There was a lot of buzz last week about the possibility of award winning Brit director Danny Boyle returning to helm the third installment in his excellent zombie-esque tale ’28 Months Later’. Currently out pushing his new action survival tale ‘127 hours’, starring James Franco, Boyle has mentioned that it most likely will happen just not anytime soon. Boyle directed the original ’28 Days Later’ and produced the follow-up ’28 Weeks Later’. This would mark his first helmed sequel.
Boyle told an audience in Washington, D.C. – If the fans are there and there is a demand to see a third entry, then it will likely happen. However he has a heap of work in front of him that includes a stage play of ‘Frankenstein’ and then dealing with the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
So I guess we can lay this one to rest, or at least hibernation for the time being.
