More monkey magic will be hitting theatre screens in May 2013 with the continuing tale of intelligent ape Caesar in the Matt Reeves (‘Let Me In’) helmed ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’. 20th Century Fox have announced that the sexy Keri Russell (below), star of upcoming sci-fi horror ‘Dark Skies’, is the latest to hop aboard the epic ape project. Russell is set to play the female lead in the movie which sees Andy Serkis return to his leading motion capture role. He is also joined by fellow Brit Gary Oldman (‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’), the young Kodi Smit-McPhee and Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’). ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ lands in theatres on 23 May 2014.
“‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ continues the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar (Andy Serkis) presides over the fall of human civilization. After the apes break out of their facility, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.”
