Actor Dennis Haysbert -below (‘The Unit’, ’24’) has signed up to fill the respectable boots of the late Michael Clarke Duncan (‘The Green Mile’) in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s comic book sequel ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill’. Haysbert has been honoured with the role of Manute which was formerly inhabited by that of Duncan who sadly died this past September. “Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role on screen.” said Rodriguez and Miller to Heat Vision. “We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast”. Haysbert joins Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Jaime King (‘Silent Night’) and Jamie Chung (‘Sucker Punch’).
“Stuck with nothing but a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, Dwight’s thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to feel the fire. One more time. But he can’t let himself lose control again, can’t ever let the monster out. And then Ava calls. With a new look generating more excitement than ever before, this third edition is the perfect way to attract a whole new generation of readers to Frank Miller’s masterpiece!”
‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ is still being lined up for a release from 4 October 2013.
