Yesterday Twitter was becoming awash with hints and suggestions that production had been stopped on dino sequel ‘Jurassic Park 4’, and now it has been confirmed. Universal have released an official statement that the entire project is now on hold….indefinitely. The problem, reportedly, lies within the pages of the JP4 script. Originally scripted by ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ duo Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver a new re-draft had been handed into the studio a few days back from director Colin Trevorrow (‘Safety Not Guaranteed’) and Derek Connolly. However, it appears that Universal are not 100% behind it currently so its back to the drawing board. You can read the full statement from Universal below.

“In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history.”

‘Jurassic Park 4’ was scheduled for a 13 June 2014 release which has now obviously been dropped completely.
