During an interview with Gorosito.TV scribe Rodo Sayagues, responsible along with Fede Alvarez for penning the recent ‘Evil Dead’ remake, discussed a potential sequel to the gory redo. According to the site he stated that the movie would not happen…”Evil Dead 2 is not going to happen, at least not with us involved.” The published article was quickly followed up a Tweet from Alvarez claiming “Don’t believe everything you read online…” BD scored further confirmaton from the filmmaker that “stuff got lost in translation” during the interview and that “Rodo meant we’re not actually making ‘Evil Dead 2’ right now because the priority is Sam’s (Raimi) ‘Army of Darkness 2.’ But the plan of making a sequel to our ‘Evil Dead’ is very much alive.”
Alvarez’s very visceral take on the classic cabin in the woods horror flick went like this:
“Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival.”
