The first official teaser trailer for the Timur Bekmambetov (‘Wanted’) helmed action horror flick ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ is finally here. The teaser comes courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox and the Tim Burton produced preiod vampire flick looks all sort of cool with action, war, slaying and even some Johnny Cash thrown in for good measure. It’s nice to see a film that will actually deal with the killing off of vamps as opposed to welcoming them into society or becoming romantically entangled with them. Kill them all! Benjamin Walker (‘Flags of Our Fathers’) will be donning the stovepipe hat and he’ll be joined by his lovely wife Mary Todd, played by ‘The Thing’ hottie Mary Elizabeth Winstead – below. Anthony Mackie (‘Real Steel’), Dominic Cooper (‘Captain America’), Alan Tudyk (‘Tucker & Dale vs Evil’), Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson (‘Stay Alive’), Robin McLeavy (‘The Loved Ones’) and Rufus Sewell (‘Dark City’) also star. Check out the teaser trailer below.
“When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln. Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.”
‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ opens in theatres from 22 June 2012.
