If you’re interested in the White family genealogy and more importantly exactly which branch our little ‘Carrie’ sits upon on her family tree then this new animated gif is just the thing. Merging the gene chart with some telekinetic mischief from the troubled teen (played by Chloe Grace Moretz (‘Kick-Ass 2’)) the new animated asset is another in a long line of little cheeky teasers and images that have been released over the past months. And yet still the release is over a month away. But it strongly feels like MGM and Screen Gems are right behind this project and very hopeful for some impressive theatrical success in the Kimberly Peirce directed reimagining. The ‘Carrie’ re-adaptation also stars Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’), Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt’), Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer (‘The Village’) and Gabriella Wilde. Check out the the new viral image below.
“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”
‘Carrie’ opens in the US on 18 October and will arrive here in the UK on 29 November.
