The line up for the gala opening night of Grimmfest 2014 has finally been revealed and it promises to get the festival going in style; horrific style that is! There are two fantastic features scheduled, one short film and a host of special guests planned that ensures 2nd October will be a very special night indeed. Headlining will be the English Premiere of Brian O’Malley’s ‘Let Us Prey’ starring Liam Cunningham (‘Game Of Thrones’, ‘Dog Soldiers’) and Pollyanna McIntosh (‘The Woman’, ‘White Settlers’).
The film is set in a neglected police station in a remote Scottish town as rookie officer Rachel (McIntosh) begins a night shift she will never forget. Let Us Prey is set to combine modern and classic horror in a way that will not disappoint genre fans.
Also screening is the UK premiere of Suburban Gothic, the new feature from Richard Bates Jnr whose previous work includes the brilliant and brutal Excision. With an all-star cast Suburban Gothic blends quirky humour with outright horror and is set to be a cult classic of the future. Opening the night is the world premiere of the ‘Vegan Feminist Horror’ short ‘The Herd’, also starring Pollyanna McIntosh which is set to shock and disgust with its simple, yet absurd premise.
With many stars and filmmakers in attendance and with each film being followed by a Q & A the opening night of Grimmfest 2014 is not to be missed!
Tickets will be available as soon as the full festival line up has been released.
