Ryan Nicholson, writer/director of the bowling-alley slasher flick GUTTERBALLS, has passed Fango on the new exclusive pic seen below along with word that the recently completed feature has found distribution representation.
“We just signed our worldwide deal with DCMedia,” he tells Fango, “and they will be taking the movie to the Berlin Film Festival for sales. They will also be shopping it to North American distributors. GUTTERBALLS premieres at Insomnifest on Saturday, February 23, and the poster art and all the teasers and trailers are up now at their website.”
The filmmaker further reveals, “Our first DVD release will be in March as a limited-edition, signed and numbered, 5,000-copy Balls-Out Director’s Cut version, totally uncut!” Regarding the U.S. release, “I’m giving MTI [which issued Nicholson’s previous LIVE FEED on disc] first dibs on it, as per my contract with DCMedia, we reserve the right to sell it to them. They’re very interested, as LIVE FEED did pretty well for them.”
Nicholson and his GUTTERBALLS cast and crew will preview the movie at our Austin, TX convention this weekend (go here for the schedule), and he adds, “I’m bringing stickers, pins, postcards and miniposters for all the Austin Fango fans, and will be premiering an exclusive uncut ultragory clip where an unfortunate player gets his face removed in the bowling-ball ‘wax-o-matic’! That pic is of me after seeing the waxer gag go nice and bloody.” Look for more on GUTTERBALLS in a future issue of Fango.
