What with the adaption of the popular stage spook tale ‘The Woman in Black’ currently in post amongst others the UK is certainly enjoying pushing out the ghost stories lately. And it seems that actor Paddy Considine (‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, ‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘In America’, ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’) is to take up the reigns of new ghost project ‘The Leaning’. During a recent interview with Total Film Paddy revealed that he would indeed be writing and directing the new project. The story will reportedly centre on the idea of legacies…”the thing people hang onto”. But even more exciting news is that he has cited that ‘The Exorcist’ is a reference point for him!
Whilst at Sundance Paddy announced his plans to kick off writing on ‘The Leaning’ in the next couple of weeks.
“‘The Leaning’ tells the story of young woman haunted by a childhood trauma who in adult life struggles to form meaningful relationships.”
