We’d heard that ‘Saw’ co-creators Leigh Whannell and James Wan were keen to follow-up last years horror hit ‘Insidious’ and now solidified in pure amber the news that the sequel ‘Insidious 2’ is indeed heading our way. The next chapter in the new horror franchise from the team is expected to kick off production on 15 January 2013 and will hit our theatre screens a few months later on 30 August 2013! The follow-up will see original stars Patrick Wilson (‘Watchmen’), Rose Byrne (‘Sunshine’), Lin Shaye (‘Dead End’) and Ty Simpkins all return and looks to also be seeing reappearances from the investigative duo Specs and Tucker played by Whannell himself along with Angus Sampson respectively. No word yet on the continuing plot which should be pretty interesting to say the least.
‘Insidious 2’ begins shooting next January.
