It appears that we may just have wind of our first piece of official casting news for Fede Alvarez’s ‘The Evil Dead’ reboot. Lily Collins is reportedly in final negotiations with Ghost House and Mandate Pictures to play the role of Mia. The casting news comes courtesy of Bloody Disgusting and as previously reported the Mia character will be the main reason for the new group of five friends attending the notorious cabin in the woods in the first place as it will be the venue to an intervention for drug user Mia. Alvarez co-wrote the script along with Rodo Sayagues. ‘Juno’ and ‘Jennifer’s Body’ writer Diablo Cody also added her little touches to the finalised screenplay. Collins (below) has previously starred in horror/sci-fi comic book adaption ‘Priest’ and John Singleton’s ‘Abduction’. She also recently wrapped her work on ‘Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White’ where she’ll be playing Miss White. Lily is of course the daughter of singer song-writer and all round musical legend Phil Collins.
“In this retelling, five friends (David, Natalie, Eric, Olivia, and Mia) hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.”
