Brit actor Michael Sheen may not have had much opportunity for blood sucking in his role as werewolf chief Lucian in the ‘Underworld’ series but it seems he may get his chance now that, according to Variety Sheen will be joining the cast of ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’.
Sheen will play Aro, the leader of the Volturi, an Italy-based coven of vampires. Director Chris Weitz told The Daily Mail “Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires,” he said. “Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat”.
Better known for his great character performances as Tony Blair in ‘The Queen’, and David Frost in the recent Oscar nominated ‘Frost/Nixon’, Sheen can also be seen in UK theatres currently as legendary football manager Brian Clough in ‘The Damned United’.
Sheen can also be seen once again playing Tony Blair in the upcoming Peter Morgan flick ‘The Special Relationship’, a dramatization that traces the former prime ministers relationships with Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
