Director Cary Fukunaga (‘Jane Eyre’) has been selected to helm the re-adaption of Stephen King’s terrifying killer creepy clown horror novel ‘IT’. Fukunaga will helm from a script penned by Chase Palmer whilst ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ author Seth Grahame-Smith will co-produce. The new adaption will be split into two feature films much like it’s previous incarnation as a two-part miniseries back in 1990. The novel adapted previously in 1990 co-starred Harry Anderson, John Ritter and Seth Green (‘Family Guy’). So now everyone’s attention is surely on just who will play the role of Pennywise the clown which was brilliantly portrayed by Brit actor Tim Curry (‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’) who donned the freaky clown make-up back in the Tommy Lee Wallace helmed TV mini-series.
“It was the children who saw – and felt – what made the town so horribly different. In the storm drains and sewers ‘It’ lurked, taking the shape of every nightmare, each one’s deepest dread. As the children grow up and move away, the horror of ‘It’ is buried deep – until they are called back.”
