Irritatingly enough Syfy will not be resting on their laurels with the recent success of their b-movie horror sequel ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’. Announced before the second installment had even seen a release ‘Sharknado 3’ was high on the list of priority projects for the network. Pushed with prowess by the marketing team behind the sequel the follow-up has enjoyed record viewing figures and will now even get a brief limited theatrical release. And even though we won’t be getting a third helping of schlock until 2015 a new teaser has already been unveiled. The Asylum will once again produce the threequel.
‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ was set this time around in New York and starred Ian Ziering, Tara Reid (‘American Pie’), Vivica A. Fox (‘Idle Hands’), Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick (‘Employee of the Month’), Judah Friedlander (’30 Rock’) and Perez Hilton.
“In SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites – and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.”
