With ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ still 6 months away from release 20th Century Fox have found it upon themselves to nail a release date already for that of it’s successor. The third installment in the revived series is set to hit theatres on 29 July 2016 with ‘Dawn’ director Matt Reeves returning to helm and co-write the script alongside Mark Bomback. Reeves is due to start work on the third movie just as soon as he’s done with the second as its been stated as a “priority for the studio”. Andy Serkis (‘King Kong’), Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’), Gary Oldman (‘The Dark Knight Rises’), Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-Mcphee, Enrique Muriciano, and Kirk Acevedo all star in the upcoming sequel.
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ arrives in theatres on 11 July 2014.
