Gorgeous Brit actress and model Gabriella Wilde (‘St Trinian’s 2’, ‘The Three Musketeers’) is set for the role of Sue Snell in director Kimberly Peirce’s new ‘Carrie’ adaption. Wilde (below) takes on the role which was first portrayed by actress Amy Irving in Brian De Palma’s 1976 version of the telekinetic tale based on horror author Stephen King’s original novel. Wilde joins Chloe Moretz (‘Dark Shadows’, ‘Kick-Ass’) who plays the lead this time around and is joined by Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’) who is set to play Carrie’s mum Margaret. Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Ivana Baquero (‘Pan’s Labyrinth’) and Judy Greer (‘The Village’) are also on board.
“The story of Carrie White, a girl brought up, almost in isolation, by her psychotically religious mother Margaret. After an embarrassing incident in the showers causes her fellow pupils to tease Carrie ruthlessly, her teacher Miss Desjardin disciplines them severely. Determined to have revenge, the other students hatch a plot against Carrie, which turns horribly wrong when Carrie’s strange mental powers are unleashed during the school prom.”
‘Carrie’ opens on 15 March 2013.
